Guidelines for Paraboiled Rice Mills
1) Drying System
Category - I Platform (Solar Drying) drying system
Category - II Elevator type (force drying) system
2) Storage of Husk
Husk has to be stored in a closed shed only.
3) Emission Standards
The air pollution Control equipment shall be installed to meet the standards prescribed by MOE & F, GOI.
4) Effluent Standards
The wastewater shall be treated to meet the standards prescribed by the MOE & F, GOI to dispose on land within the premises of the industry.
5) Solid Waste
Boiler ash shall be stored in a separate closed shed in one of the corners of the site away from habitation and roads until is final disposal.
The ash generated shall be disposed into secured landfill or sold in the market for manufacture of bricks etc.
The ETP sludge shall be disposed into a secured landfill.
6) Area of Land
For a plant of 25 TPD capacity 30 KLD of wastewater will be generated as such about 3 acres of land is required.

7) General
The new
units shall not be located in the catchment area of drinking water source.
Cement Grinding Units (Small Scale Units i.e., upto 50 TPD)
1) National High Way shall be - 100 mtrs
2) State High Way shall be - 50 mtrs
3) M.D.R. / Village roads shall be - 25 mtrs
Note :- All the distances shall be measured from the boundary of the site to the human habitation ie., boundary of the town, village, hamlet etc.,
Bag filter
for grinding Mill as well as cement silo either combindly or separately to be
provided for units with capacity --50 TPD or more
Stone Crushing Units
All the
stone crushers adjacent to roads, schools, hospitals and sensitive zones
regardless of their date of origin shall be shifted to the sites which comply
with the Guidelines of the Board.
Dairy Units
1) National High Way shall be - 100 m
2) State High Way shall be - 50 m
3) M.D.R. / Village roads shall be - 25 m
Note : The Environmental Engineers at Regional Offices are authorised to issue CFE / CFO for Dairy Units of capacity upto & equal to 10 KLD.
LPG Bottling Plant (Small Scale Units upto 100 T LPG Storage as per OSID 169)
On site
emergency plan to be prepared before the activity is commenced ie.., before
going into trial production.

For Boiling Process
The
Regional Officer shall identify places at which cluster of not more than 3 - 4
units can be located for future planning.

Guidelines for setting up of Sponge Iron Units
1. No population shall
exist within 1 Km from the periphery of the unit.
2. In case of recreational areas the distance shall be 2 Km from the periphery.
3. No other sponge iron plants shall be located with 1 Km.
4. Distance between the boundary of the site and the boundary of the · National
Highway and State Highway shall be -500 m · Major District roads – 100 m, other
roads – 25 m
5. The distance between the boundary of the site and the boundary of the
gardens/ horticulture/orchards/agricultural lands -1Km
6. The built-up are of the plant shall not be more than 50% of total area.
7. Greenbelt of 10 m width all around the plant premises shall be developed. In
the case of sensitive areas the greenbelt shall be 25 mts width in the
prevailing wind direction. The greenbelt development shall be done with “Locality
Suitable EVERGREEN plants”.
8. The SPM emission concentration in stack shall not be more than 100mg/NM3.
The control equipments ESP or bag filters will have 25% addition stand by
stages for ESP or bag cells for bag filter
9. The height of the stack attached to the Rotary Kiln shall be minimum 75 m
from the ground level for 100 T/day and 100 m for 200 T/day capacities.
10. All sources of fugitive emissions i.e., loading and unloading operations,
stock yard, transfer points of conveyors and retreat points shall be controlled
fully i.e., with total enclosures and all transfer emissions shall be connected
with Extractor inlet point and shall pass through a high efficiency Bag filter
before discharging into the atmosphere.
11. The collected dust from air pollution control equipments shall be disposed
in a well designed land fill, top surface shall be kept in wet condition with
water sprinklers to avoid re-entrainment into surroundings.
12. All internal roads shall be paved with Bitumen or Concrete.
13. Separate energy meter for air pollution control equipment shall be provided
